On October 16, as part of the Arctic Circle Assembly in Reykjavik, the Reindeer Herding and Resilience project team hosted a session.
This session presented the most recent book by the ICR team and Sámi Allaskuvla about the history of the Sámi Indigenous knowledge documentation. The discussion was about how the Sámi were perceived by the travellers and researchers through centuries, how Indigenous knowledge survived millennia and is still relevant, and why it is vital to have proper translation (both in the 18th century and in the age of AI).
